Emergence of cooperation in a population with bimodal response behaviors

چکیده

We human beings show remarkable adaptability in response to complex surroundings, we adopt different behavioral modes at occasions, such multimodality is critical our survival. Yet, how this affects the evolution of cooperation remains largely unknown. Here build a toy model address issue by considering population with bimodal behaviors, or specifically, Fermi and Tit-for-tat updating rules. While former rule tends imitate strategies those neighbors who are doing well, latter repeats what their did them. In structural mixing implementation, where fixed for each individual, find that moderate mode mixture unexpectedly boosts overall level population. The boost even more pronounced probabilistic mixing, individual randomly chooses one two step, full seen wide range. These findings robust underlying topology Our mean-field treatment reveals prevalence within players linearly increases fraction TFT explains non-monotonic dependence mixing. study shows diversity behaviors may help explain emergence realistic contexts.

Emergence of cooperation with self-organized criticality

Cooperation and self-organized criticality are two main keywords in current studies of evolution. We propose a generalized Bak-Sneppen model and provide a natural mechanism which accounts for both phenomena simultaneously. We use the prisoner’s dilemma games to mimic the interactions among the members in the population. Each member is identified by its cooperation probability, and its fitness i...

Response of Poaceous Weeds in Wheat to Post-Emergence Herbicides

Poaceous weeds are prolific and competitive in winter crops, but they are more insidious in wheat due to their similar morphology and growing requirements. Herbicides are effective and efficient tools of weed management, however, they are vulnerable to resistance, and herbicides with different modes of action might check the dominance of a particular weed flora. The current study was undertaken...

Emergence of Cooperation in Heterogeneous Population: a Discrete-time Replicator Dynamics Analysis

The emergence of cooperation is analyzed in heterogeneous populations where individuals can be classified in two groups according to their phenotypic appearance. Phenotype recognition is assumed for all individuals: individuals are able to identify the type of every other individual, but fail to recognize their own type, and thus behave under partial information conditions. The interactions bet...
